The decision to mark ourselves through tattoo art is a lifelong commitment (usually) It’s become a popular medium and an artistic specialty. A tattoo is always a statement, a declaration, a memory, and above all a message. We want to be heard.
St. Timothy’s Church is hosting the second collaborative photo exhibit, Hear Me, Too, in order to listen to your story through your favorite tattoo. This exhibit is an invitation and an introduction. We have spent months taking photos of your favorite tattoos and recording the stories behind them. We want to hear you.
We believe it’s an echo of how God hears us. We believe we are heard, we are known, we are loved, and we are tattooed on God’s hands. We cannot wait to be introduced.
“Can a woman forget her nursing child?
That she shall have no compassion on the son of her womb
Even these may forget, Yet I will not forget you.
Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands”
Isaiah 49: 15-16
